A trailer for the second season of The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten (a.k.a. Otonari no Tenshi-sama ni Itsu no Ma ni ka Dame Ningen ni Sareteita Ken in Japanese) has been released by TOHO Animation. In it you can enjoy Mahiru being a “little devil.” This is a nod toward a 2022 April Fool’s Day gag.

The trailer does not, unfortunately, reveal a release date for the second season.
The first season began in early 2023, and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The person handling the series scripts was Keiichiro Ochi, who is known for working on Adachi and Shimamura and The Quintessential Quintuplets. The music was composed by Moe Hyūga of O Maidens in Your Savage Season.
The franchise started out as a light novel series (released in America by Yen Press) and also has a manga adaptation (released in America by Square Enix Manga & Books). Square Enix Manga & Books gave this description for the plot:
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Plot
Could these lonely neighbors be a match made in heaven? A cozy teen romance based on the novels that inspired the hit anime!
Amane Fujimiya lives alone in a messy apartment-right next door to Mahiru Shiina, a veritable “angel” who’s the smartest, prettiest girl at school. When a chance encounter on a rainy day draws them together, Mahiru finds herself spending more and more time helping Amane get his life in order. And though they both insist they have no intention of dating the other, slowly but surely, something more than friendship begins to blossom.
Creator Saekisan originally uploaded the light novels on the site “Shosetsuka ni Naro” (translated as “Let’s Become Novelists”) in 2018. It was later picked up by GA Bunko, an imprint of SB Creative.
