Naruto Shippuden x Maeda Coffee Collaboration Café Dishes Up Limited Time Treats

The Naruto Shippuden x Maeda Coffee collaboration café, which starts tomorrow and lasts through April 13, affects five different Maeda cafés in Kyoto, sometimes with different offerings on their menu.

All of the cafés will offer Naruto Shippuden Pound Cake, Naruto’s Swirl Ham Pocket Sandwich, and Minato’s Rasengan Soda.

Moving on to the specifics per different location, the Muromachi main shop offers Sakura’s Shirotama Anmitsu Parfait and Hinata’s Blueberry Milk; the Museum of Kyoto “Bunpaku” branch has Shikamaru’s Mackerel Sandwich and Gaara’s Thick Pancake; the Oike branch boasts Kakashi and Pakkuns’ Cream Puffs, Deidara’s Explosive Clay Parfait, and Sasori’s Chocolate Cassis Smoothie; the Kyoto International Manga Museum branch presents Sasuke’s Onigiri Set and Sakura’s Shirotama Anmitsu Parfait; the Ryukoku Museum branch supplies Sasuke’s Onigiri Set and Itachi’s Mangekyo Sharingan Parfait.

People who go to the cafés will also be treated to coaster souvenirs that each have one of the following characters: Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Shikamaru, Hinata, Minato, Itachi, Deidara, and Sasori.

There is also unique merchandise to buy, such as acrylic stands, shiny tin badges, and character illustration cards.

A recent survey asked fans what shows made them want to try new Japanese dishes, and Naruto was the runaway winner. These cafés might not be offering Naruto’s favorite ramen, but they have plenty of themed, good food for fans!

VIZ Media publishes the original manga in English and gave this description for its plot:

Naruto Plot

Twelve years ago the Village Hidden in the Leaves was attacked by a fearsome threat. A nine-tailed fox spirit claimed the life of the village leader, the Hokage, and many others. Today, the village is at peace and a troublemaking kid named Naruto is struggling to graduate from Ninja Academy. His goal may be to become the next Hokage, but his true destiny will be much more complicated. The adventure begins now!
